I guess that is all he had to wear that day. Everything else was in the wash.

Any guess as to how old that scarecrow is...from when...1930. 1950 when? When did cargo pants first emerge on the fashion circuit? Love your comment Susan!!!!!

I read that military pants like those worn by paratroopers in the 1940's inspired cargo pants. But I honestly believe they were around before the 40's.

I live in cargo pants. I wear them more than any thing else.

The comment just slipped out Maria. I don't think I've ever seen a scarecrow in cargo pants. Usually they are in really raggedy clothing.

Hello everyone, I am home. It was a great time meeting Maria and Angel. But I would have loved a few more days.
Here is my story, its a very short story though.
I was standing in front of the house that Arthur built, about as far away from as I could get because there is a steep drop off not too far away. I took one picture of the front, didn't like it, so I made an adjustment and took a second picture.
Just before I started to walk away I swear I heard someone (or something) whisper something in my right ear. It sounded like a human voice but I couldn't understand what was said, it was very short, only 2 syllables. I was a bit startled and looked around but didn't see anything or anyone. And maybe 5 seconds later I heard it again, exactly the same as it sounded the first time.
I don't believe in ghosts either. But I heard something that sounded just like someone whispering in my ear, but there there was no one there. Maria and Angel had already started away and were around the side of the house. When I told Maria and Angel about the whispers that's when Angel said something had touched her hair.
I sure wish I could have understood what was said in the whisper, but I couldn't.

Sissy, you could have come too. I don't know who was in charge of inviting people though.

Welcome back to the forum Brian. Two weeks is a long time in the forum with you not in here. I wanted Sissy to come too but she couldn't as she lives too far away. As for the whispers there was no wind blowing that day so it wasn't the wind. I'd love to know who it was, Nina or Arthur. If it was a spirit as I suspect it was, it was someone who was traumatized out there. Other than Arthur and Nina Lawson, the only people who have ever lived in that house were Hillary and Sadie Hampton. I feel very certain it wasn't them. Who could the "Whispering Ghost" have been? Arthur? And the "Hair-Touching Ghost? Nina?

Brian, I'm glad that you were able to visit this area. It sounds like you had a great time and also a probable ghost experience. We don't experience that very often.

Welcome back to the forum Brian. I am glad you, Maria and Angel had such a good time. The incident at Arthur's sounds scary! Maybe it was Nina that whispered in you ear. Maybe next time you come you can visit the old abandoned house that Maria and I went to. That was the first time I had ever experienced the feeling of someone in the same room with me.
For those that haven't seen the Photos of Brian's visit and the Browder Cemetery pictures....the links are on the side bar menu, just added them yesterday so not all of you may know there up.
Enjoy!

Oh I loved the pictures of the visit. I see now why Maria didn't invite me she wanted to keep Brian all to herself . It's so nice to be able to put a face with the name. The story of the voice gave me chills. Maybe it was Arthur trying to talk to you.

I didn't find the whispers I heard (or thought I heard) frightening at all. It was the middle of a bright sunny day, I didn't see anything, I just heard 2 of the exact same whispers and that was all. I was startled by it because I wasn't expecting it and because it sounded so much like a voice but there was no one near me. I would probably have dismissed it altogether if it hadn't happened twice so quickly.
Also, I wouldn't have thought much of it if Angel hadn't had her hair touched. We haven't discussed this, but I think Angel's hair must have been touched near the spot where I heard the whispers. I wonder if we'll find out that something happened to someone on that spot.
