Thought I'd pass this link along since I haven't seen it before. www.rambles.net/xmas_trag07.htmlI found it a few minutes ago. It's a pretty decent review of our documentary.

I just read this Maria. Thanks for posting. All in all it was as you said a decent review. I'm afraid our accents do always come out in a review. I didn't feel quite as put down as I have in other reviews of anything in this area. At least the area wasn't called "backwoods" as it has been before.

It was a good review but "accents are strong and hard to understand"??!! I don't recall seeing that in a review before! I didn't have any problem understanding anyone in the DVD!!
And he was left wondering if the son committed the murders cause he couldn't have possibly been out getting bullets as it was Christmas Day and there had been a snowstorm. That always gets to me when people say that - because as discussed in here before - people lived in that store back then and things were different back then AND people were used to travel being difficult - snow or not!
Overall though it was a good review. Thanks for posting it Maria!

That is what happens when you haven't been in the forum here!!! We have so much more information via of this forum than we did back when the Documentary came out as well as the fact that we have corrected many things that were wrong or misleading that have been previously stated long before we became involved . People really need to join our forum, not just as readers but as posters also if they really want to understand and learn more about this tragedy than just reading a book or two. Other wise they just end up believing some things that are wrong, innaccurate, and or misleading and then they pass those wrong things on to other people who read what they write and on and on it goes.

It was a good review but "accents are strong and hard to understand"??!! I don't recall seeing that in a review before! I didn't have any problem understanding anyone in the DVD!! Maybe he was from New York Angel...hehehe. The review wasn't bad, I'm just glad that "Target Man" didn't write the review!! He left an awful comment on the documentary and boasted on the book? ?? What got me the most from this person is that he or she sounded very angry in their post. I agree that some people may not like the documentary and if they want to post on not liking it thats their opinion but to disgrace and try to humiliate the film makers is a different story!! Hummmm, makes you wonder who really posted that comment doesn't it

Maybe he was from New York Angel...hehehe. I almost said he must be from the North - I was definitely thinking it! And who is "Target Man"?

Click on the photo of the lawson's in the article and it will take you to a page that has reviews of the documentary (people who have bought it and wrote a small comment). All of the posts on the documentary were very good except the one that "Target Man" posted, so that is all that matters.

Ahhh - gotcha. Thanks!!!!
As for "target man" - what an a#$!! Funny how he felt the books were "fascinating" but hated the DVD. And was it really necessary to just go on and on and on??!! I agree with you Vickie - it makes you wonder who really wrote that review.

Who gets that angry at a Documentary!!!!!! That is pathetic. To not like it is one thing but to attack the film makers and or the people of Stokes County turns it into a personal attack which tells me all I need to know about who the real person is behind the attack. Not everyone can like something but for crying out loud leave the people in Stokes County alone. They don't know us or the people in Stokes County. Just say "I didn't much like the documentary", then let it go. Now, having said that I shall forget Target Man and never remember him/her and their tirade again. They are now off of my radar.

Yep most likely a Yankee . I guess you could call that a good review?? Thanks for the link, I enjoyed reading it. I also read the "target man" review, omg dude, get a grip, nobody made him spend his money on the documentary, if it's that bad donate it to the library or something, gees. Is it just me or was it kinda funny that the only review he did was against the documentary??? "Target Man" is right, sounds like he came into that with a big target on the back of the documentary.

Amen to that Sissy!!! I remember alot of people, especially in Stokes County, saying they too felt cheated out of their money...but it was the money they spent on the book they complained to me about.
