Hi Doug, I too am sure the photo is of Sarah Etta. She was 36 when she died. I've no idea though of what caused her death.

I wonder if she died from complications arising from child birth or if it was something else such as pneumonia.

Death in child birth remains the leading cause of non-accidental female death globally, with estimates of one woman dying every MINUTE of childbirth related causes.
It happens less in countries with good healthcare systems and access to trained medical personnel, adequate hygiene and proper care for the mother, such as western countries.
But in developing countries and places where practices such as FGM (Female genital mutilation) are common, the number of women who die in childbirth remains as high as in times gone past.
As the developing world is in fact the *majority* of people on this planet, the statistics have not changed all that much overall.
Women die in childbirth for various reasons, but the main one is ~ childbirth is hard on the mother.
Physically, the mother's body must accommodate the passage through it of the embryo, weighing as much as six or seven pounds, sometimes more. Even on low bithweight cases, the physical proportions of an embryo are quite large, especially the head.
The process can take from between one hour to one week, and can result in haemorrhage, dislocation of the pelvic bones, tearing of internal and external muscles and tissue, and exhaustion.
In women who have narrow hips, are young, malnourished or unwell, this difficult process can be deadly.
In these modern times, in western societies particularly, women prepare for childbirth with diet and exercise, and some still have tremendous difficulties.
In previous times, before the possibility of emergency intervention, women took their chances with every birth.
Additionally, many pregnant women today live in places where their health is not cared for, which means pregnancy and childbirth is additionally risky.

Wow..that's pretty sad. It's extra sad that we in America and some other countries have the knowledge and the means to help mothers in our own countries, but because developing countries are so poor, the knowledge does them no good as they don't have the means.

No, not really Sissy. All I can say at this time is that the Scrapbook is over half way finished. Arranging and designing pages for 300 photos in addition to adding the descriptions of how each person and place connects directly to the Lawson family and the murders has turned out to be far more time consuming that I originally thought. It will be ready when it's ready and i will announce it big time when it's finished. We'll throw a great big party when it's done!!!!!!!!!!

I just saw the slide show of the pictures of the Lawson family and some other people connected to them and the murders. I have never seen anything like this before. Some of the names I have heard in here before and it's really neat to be able to see the face that goes with the name. I really enjoyed it. Tim Bowman
