Does anyone remember those old fashioned fans in the forties and fifties you used in church and at funerals when it was hot. The church ones had Jesus on one side of it and the funeral homes had one of a funeral home on it. I got one of those old ones Tuesday at Madison Dry Goods Store that was of Nelson Funeral Home in Danbury. It came out in the forties.

Well, of course I wasn't around back then ;D, but I remember those fans. That's cool you were able to obtain one that is connected to the Lawson's!!!!!

I remember seeing them, way back when. It seemed to me that the only people who had them were women, and sometimes older men. I remember thinking it sure seemed like a lot of work to try and keep cool. It seemed counter productive somehow.

Those fans were tiring on the arm but they sure did generate alot of air. Sometimes a good shot of breeze from that old fan was all it took to keep me from falling asleep during a sermon. Sometimes young girls used them in church to get a boy's attention!!!

I can remember using them in church on Sundays. It would be so hot in the church that anything that generated a breeze was appreciated. Yes your arm would get tired be it was worth it for a breeze. Thank goodness for A/C now.

I used to have one of those with the Dan River Queen on it. Don't know what happened to it.
