I met a friend for lunch today with Erica, and had to make a quick stop at the dollar store. They are already putting Halloween "stuff" out on the shelves. I got so excited about it and started looking at what they had, that I forgot what I had even went into the store to buy!! I love Halloween more than any other holiday and have since I was a child. This holiday more than any other brings back sooo many childhood memories with my brothers and sister. With 4 children in the family, we had to use our imagination as to what we wanted to be each year. We couldn't go buy a costume, so we had to be creative. I remember one year dressing like an old hag. My mother teased my hair, (which was very long then) and helped me gather some old clothes. That night I thought I would never get the knots out of my hair!! But everyone loved the end result of my homemade costume. We used our pillow cases as treat bags too, which was fine by me. Do you know how much candy you can get in a pillow case!!
What is your favorite holiday and why?

You already know what my favorite holiday is Debbie. Same as yours... It falls in my favorite season (Autumn/October which adds to my love of it. When I was a little girl I got the same Halloween costume EVERY year....Casper the Friendly Ghost. That's the only thing I ever wanted to be. I was into ghosts as a child and I'm still into ghosts as a senior citizen!!!!!!!

Christmas is my favorite holiday and I really enjoy Halloween too. I enjoy the whole month of October and November. So much goes on for the fall. Churches have lots of bazaars with stew for sale, homemade pies and cakes. I like to watch all of the Halloween shows that the television sitcoms put on. Its a great time of the year.
