While I was at Burroughs Funeral Hme today taking photos of the oil paintings on the wall of the first owners of Burroughs Funeral Home (Ivy and Elizabeth Burroughs) I noticed that no matter where in the room I walked or stood, the eyes of Elizabeth Burroughs followed me. The eyes of Ivy Burroughs didn't do that but hers sure did. It freaked me out. I don't like knowing that someone's eyes are following me around a funeral home, especially when the person's eyes that are looking at me and following me around are the eyes of a person who is dead. By the way, Burroughs Funeral Home is the one who handled the remains of Arthur Lawson in 1945. Maria

Yeah that would creep me out too!!! Doubly creeped out because it's in a funeral home and triply creeped out because because it's a dead person. Is triply a word? Oh well, you get my drift.!! Angel71242

I've seen this sort of thing before but not often. There's a statue of Jesus in Fort Lincoln Memorial Cemetery where my mother and sister are buried. His eyes do the same thing. But the eyes of Jesus following me actually comforted rather than frightened me. Maria

That's what I was going to say before I reached the end of your post...the eyes of Jesus following me are okay. Angel71242

Matthew electronically manipulated Charlie Lawson's eyes in the documentary making them move slowly until they settled on me, and when I saw that I blurted out "don't you look at me Charlie Lawson, don't you dare look at me." To say it un-nerved me is an under statement!!! Maria

This is a really cool effect when you get it right. Most of the time it's just a creepy accident though. I bet Charlie Lawson's eyes did getcha Maria!!! Michael818

Another time I was watching the Documentary with a friend of mine and when it came to that part about Charlie's eyes my friend screamed...."Oh my God he looked right at me". I said he freaking looked at me too." It was intense and way too creepy. No matter how many people are in the room at the same time or where they are in the room, it looks like Charlie Lawson is looking at you and only you. I don't know how Matthew did that but it was a stroke of genius. It was definitely not an accident. Maria

It's only fair, if you think about it. We like to look at paintings, why shouldn't they get to look back at us? hehehe. "It is caused by linear perspective -- a technique that uses a single point as the focus -- and became all the rage in art. In linear perspective, all lines in a painting go to a common point (think about railroad tracks that vanish in the distance), and it creates the impression of depth and distance." Read about it here: entertainment.howstuffworks.com/eyes-in-painting-follow1.htm
