Another very close connection to the Lawson family...Annie Lucille (Oakley) Manring died this week. She was the wife of Fannie Lawson's oldest brother Arthur Reid Lawson's son Arthur. She was 94 years old. She will be buried today in the Peters Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Lawsonville. I didn't know until yesterday that her maiden name was Oakley. I assume this is where our dear friend Rev. Oakley Manring got his name. I only knew her as Lucille Manring so I also didn't know until yesterday that before she married Arthur Manring that her name was the same as my idol when I was 10 years old. My idol was the famous wild west sharp shooter Annie Oakley who could (and did) outshoot any man.!!!! Below is her obituary.
