A lady I talked with last night told me about a man named Mr. Bolin who drove a dump truck at the same time Arthur lawson did and that Mr. Bolin and Arthur were good friends. According to mr. Bolin, when he asked Arthur if the rumors about his sister Marie being pregnant were true, Arthur looked him straight in the eyes and emphatically responded YES. A 97 year old lady told her daughter (the lady I spoke with last night) that her favorite niece who use to visit her a lot told her that she was present when Mr. Bolin told this to her daughter. This still of course does not prove that Marie was pregnant...only a DNA test can do that...however, what it does tell me is that one more person who was alive during the time of the murders and knew the Lawson family first hand told this same thing about Marie being pregnant that Stella Lawson boles told, that Sam Hill told, andthat two men we interviewed for the documentary told. Now this 97 year old lady has told it. This makes 6 peopl I know of who said they had heard that Marie was pregnant. The more people who unknown by the others tell the same thing at different times to different people lends more and more credence to the story being true. As more and more time passes, more and more people are coming forward who are willing now to talk and share what they know and what they heard about that terrible day in 1929. Maria

Maria, this is so interesting that you have spoken with this lady concerning this. You are indeed an awesome researcher. I may have asked this before, but are there any medical records with the family doctor on any of the children. I was just curious if Marie may have seen the doctor or another professional. I am still baffled as to why the Coroner did not observe the pregnancy. Iluvnumber3

I really don't know if any of the Lawson children saw the doctor except in cases of an emergency or to receive their vaccination shots. As for why the Coroner (Dr. Helsabeck) did not notice that Marie was pregnant I can only guess that it was because Marie would have had to be further along than she was to show enough for him to notice and also unless a full body autopsy had been performed on Marie which it was not. OMG This is un-believable news. It still leaves the question though of who was the Daddy? Sissy

That's right Sissy, who was the daddy? How will anyone ever know for sure? What if we are all wrong and blame that on Charlie too. I think he did enough by killing them but who knows what really happened that bloody day? DougBoulding

But what if we are all right Doug? As I've said before, we can't know for sure without a DNA test. I am not saying that what I was told was true or not, I only tell what the people tell me about anything relating to these murders. Why would so many people make up something that ugly about Charlie and Marie? That would be an incredibly cruel thing to do. What would any of them have to gain by it? Maria

I agree with Maria that if it weren't true they would not have wanted to disgrace the Lawson family further by saying it was. Sissy

That is what I said all along. There were members of Stella's family (namely her sister) who was very upset and mad at her for telling what she did. Heck, it was on her sister's death bed before they finally spoke again to each other. Now why on earth would Stella risk making her family that mad at her by telling something like that if it were not true. Hillbillyghosthunter

I do find it interesting that another person is saying that Marie was definitely pregnant. It was such a scandal! This is like stuff you only hear on t.v. nowadays...well nowadays I guess you do see it more often in real life...but back then? WOW. Wouldn't it be interesting to go back in time and be a fly on the wall in the Lawson home? And the homes of family an friends. It just makes you wonder what else that family too to their grave, Ginny

Oh lord Ginny, there is no telling what secrets they took with them. A man just doesn't do something as drastic and violent and incomprehensible as Charlie Lawson did that day, motive aside, without having a history of some form of serious dysfunction which would have spilled out a number of times in a number of ugly ways, I hate to think of what life was like in that household on a daily basis. Yet so many people referred to Charlie Lawson as a GOOD MAN who loved his family and was well respected in the community. It's a mystery with a capital "M". Maria

I am really enjoying reading all these old posts. I still believe she was pregnant and Charlie was the daddy.

I also believe that if it wasn't true that family members would never have said anything like that. They have nothing to gain and alot to lose by making such a statement. Charlie probably got wind to the fact that a few people knew about it and thats when he started going ballistic.

That's exactly what I've always thought Vickie. He knew the cat was out of the bag and he couldn't face paying the piper.

It appears to me that he had planned everything beforehand for the murders. Having the family portrait taken and buying new clothes for everyone. It appears that he had thought of doing this for some time. Very calculating.
