01/10/08 at 10:47 AM Maria I wonder what the name of the store was where Charlie Lawson bought the new clothes for his wife and children. The name of the photography company that took the family portrait was Ideal photography. There was a clothing store by the name Ideal. So I'm thinking it's one and the same. But when the news broke in the Winston-Salem journal the day after the murders, whoever waited on the Lawson children and helped them with their purchases when the clothes were bought, never to my knowledge went public with or told anyone that they had waited on those little children just a couple of weeks earlier. Surely they would have recognized them from the photo in the newspaper that day. The photographer who took the photo, Cleave Simpson, didn't either. Wonder why? I would have stroked out to see the faces of those children in the paper two weeks after I had met and waited on them and saw that they had been murdered. Maria

01/12/08 at 01:18 PM Maria I bet they told somebody, I wonder who. I know I would have. I would have really been shaken up if I saw where a family had been murdered whose photo I had taken just a week before. I would have had to talk to someone about it. Maria

Shame no one ever intereviewed the clerk who sold them the clothes. It would have been interesting to hear how everyone was that day, especially Charlie. Wonder if he already knew what he was going to do when he bought those clothes.

I would think he knew what he was going to do. He bought the clothes to get the picture taken in. I think he wanted a picture of the entire family as a way of keeping the family together, after death. Without this photo I think they would have been forgotten long ago. I'd say he got his wish.

Yes, what you say sounds right. It's probably the reason he got the clothes and pictures, because he knew what he was going to do and like you said wanted the family to be "together forever".
