I don't know if this has been posted before, but how did everyone hear of this case. I for one heard about it from Netflix, just happened to see it in the documentary section and choose it. But luckily for Christmas I got it as one of my gifts along with the cd to this.
Hopefully this spring I will drive down to visit the cemetery. I live about 2 hours away.

I grew up hearing about it. My grandparents on Mom's side had their first son that same year. They had five in all, 2 boys, 3 girls. The story haunted a lot of people.
I took more of an interest when I got older because of the ghostlore concerning them. I am an author and ghost hunter, so, naturally, this story caught my interest. Before you ask, no, I'm not associated with either of the Trudy Smith/ Bruce Jones works. I wrote my own, which contains a chapter on the Lawson legends.
I think most of the people on this forum probably heard of it for years. But I'm glad you found it. Ain't the documentary GREAT?!

Thanks for the compliments, Laurie and welcome to the forum; I think it's safe to say we all know now where I first heard the story, so I'll pass the mic...

Welcome to the forum Laurie!!
I heard about it from a lady named Lawson!! (no relation tho) I love True Crime and was fascinated that I could visit the graves of someone I had read about in a true crime book.

Welcome Laurie!!
Like Michael, I don't remember every *not* knowing about it. There's some relation in my family to the Lawson's although I've never really found the link...it was probably through marriage somewhere, as I haven't investigated the brothers and sisters of my ancestors. I can remember being a little bitty thing and hearing my great-grandmother and grandmother talking about the murders.
Needless to say, that sort of thing sticks with you through the years.....as I got older, I started looking into learning more than just family lore.
