It's been said that Charlie Lawson owned an upright phonograph player. Clearly the photograph of the interior of the house where the murders were committed does not show a phonograph. Unless it was in the upstairs room where the children slept or the main room downstairs was bigger than what has been shown in the photo where is the phonograph? If Charlie did indeed own a phonograph then the theory of financial problems as a cause for Charlie's reason for murder and suicide is debunked another notch. Phonographs in 1929 were very expensive and very few people owned one. Only a person in good financial straights could own such a thing. The main downstairs room where the murders occurred must have been quite a bit larger than the only photo known to be in existence shows. I'd love to know what was on the right side of the dresser where the pillows are. Could there have been a table of some sort? Could the phonograph have been on that? The room is shown only as far on the left as where the bed is. Could there have been a table or some other piece of furniture there? What about the other side of the room where the stairs leading up to the bedrooms were? Was there any thing there? I find it strange that only one section of that room was photographed. I know it was the most important section of the room for the photographers but I still find it strange the rest of the room was not photographed. At least it doesn't appear to have been.
