I remember reading somewhere one time where Mark Burger referred to the day of the Lawson murders as "Black Christmas". Another person, a lady 1 interviewed said her mother, when asked about the Lawson murders remarked, "It was the darkest day in the history of Stokes County." Goldie Lawson called the murders "The Deed". Claude Lawson referred to it as "the most terrifying experience of my life." The Danbury Reporter called it The Germanton Horror. How would you define the Lawson murders in 6 words or less? We at Break of Dawn Productions of course refer to it as A Christmas Family Tragedy.

Every time I've thought about the family the term that always pops in my head is the Lawson Family Murders. Not too original, I know, but I'm definitely not a writer!! Had I been a reporter tho -1 probably would have gone with "Christmas Horror".

The worst thing I've ever heard of is my way of defining it.

I thought the movie was Silent Night, Bloody Night. In any event, titles are difficult to trademark or copyright. Just look at all the movies and books with the same title, but different subject matter, or confusing titles, like the book NOT FADE AWAY about Kurt Kobaine. Never mind that this was a BUDDY HOLLY song (redone by the Stones), and the title of the original Holly film which never was completed. Point is, Any of these "horrifies" fits the Lawson story, as well as others.

There's a movie by that title too. That one's a little older - 1974.
