I've heard from some people that William Lawson was buried in Browder Cemetery in 1920 and I've heard more recently from one of the members on the board of Directors that no one in Charlie Lawson's family was ever buried there before Charlie, Fannie, and the children who were killed were buried there in 1929. Charlie Lawson appeared to have had the means to buy a headstone for his son William and I have a hard time believing that Fannie would not have seen to it that Charlie purchase one for him. Maria

Everything about this family is mysterious! There was a birth certificate for this child but no death certificate. I find it odd too that there was no marker or tombstone for William in Browder Cemetery, but I would like to think this little boy is resting in peace with his family.

Minus his father I should hope. I could never rest in peace lying beside of and in the same plot with my killer or the person who killed my mother, sisters, and brothers, even if he was my father. Maria

Maria I definitely have to agree! I still find it really weird that they buried Charlie with all the people he murdered. I always have a few choice words for him when I visit the grave! Thanks for posting this old thread Maria!!

I thought if only we could find a death certificate for William that it would tell us where he was buried then we'd have proof as to whether or not William was buried in Browder Cemetery. But then I remembered Martha Montgomery's death certificate. Her death certificate said she was buried in Browder Cemetery but it turns out that was wrong. She was buried in the Bowman Family Cemetery.

But that can't be...if something is written, especially on an offical form or in a newspaper perhaps, it HAS to be true! Plus, they just didn't make mistakes back then.
That would like...chiseling something into stone that was mistaken or misspelled. Can you imagine that?

I can't imagine that, no. No more than I can imagine anyone misspelling a word like official. As in an "OFFICAL" form!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm sorry Brian, I just couldn't help myself!!! Angel made me do it!!! Maria

I know it can be frustrating trying to find out information. I have been trying to do research on my family, it's like after a certain age they just disappeared. Shame they didn't keep better records back then.
