I received this email from our newest member Adam but I cannot remember how to answer his question. Can one of you Sissy, Brian, Angel....someone post here the directions from Winston-Salem to where the Lawson Family home once stood. All I can remmber is HWY 8 and Brook Cove Road. Here is his letter: Maria,
My name is Adam Luffman. I live in Winston Salem, and I joined your "Charlie Lawson' website last night. A friend of mine recently gave me the book "The meaning of our tears". I read it, and I have found myself completely fascinated with the whole story. I have found on your website, and tons of others pictures of the family burial plot. However, I am more interested in seeing the location where the murders took place at. I know that the house is gone, but I would really like to know the location. I read on the "Walnut Cove message forum" that it is private property and you will be arrested if caught trespassing. I have no intentions of actually going to explore the property. But I would at least like to know where it is so I could drive by it. Could you possibly help me out? I'd really appreciate it. Thank you so much.
Adam

Hi Adam welcome to our family. You will find out a lot of info here. I'm sure Angel or Brian or somebody can get you to Browder and past the home place, me I stink at directions lol. You would end up on Abudabi. And as far as the book goes, take what's in it with a grain of salt. You would be much happier.

Oh Sissy..I would love to have those directions to Abudabi!! That would be a great place to go!! ;D Just kidding!! ;D
Ok Adam, first, welcome to the forum! I hope you like it here and are a participating member!!
Directions: Take Highway 52 to North 8. Follow North 8 until you eventually come up on Brookcove Rd - make a right on Brookcove. Between Kenny Lane (small dirt road on left) and Watts Road is where the cabin used to be - up on a big hill (on the left). The land that Charlie owned and farmed is the land you see (on the left) where Watts Road intersects Brookcove. If you turn down Watts Road and look to your left very carefully you can see the memorial bridge on the property that was partially made with wood from the cabin. You can see this bridge much better in the wintertime.
If you need more detailed directions I would be glad to help. Let me know.

Well thank you! I did forget to mention though Adam, to please don't believe everything you read in TMOOT. The general story is correct, but there are some blaring untruths in that book as well. For instance, there is a picture in the book identified as John Dillinger, however, it is actually a picture of the actor who played John Dillinger in the movie. And the actual John Dillinger who toured the cabin was a Stokes County Highway Patrolman, not the infamous bank robber. I think with an effort at research, that would have been discovered by the author. Another really huge untruth - one that was used to promote the book as a "big secret revealed" is that there was a witness to the murder. If you look at all the facts surrounding this supposed witness it is clear that there was no witness. Hassell Miller, at 9 years old, witnessed this horrific tragedy and never told anyone??? Not even his family that day??? Hassell Millers own daughter even joined this forum at one point to say that her father was most definitely NOT a witness. She went on to say that her family was never even contacted by the author - something Maria was able to accomplish in about 30 minutes. I really could go on and on but I will chill now! I just had to get all that out!!

Wonderful directions, Angel.
Welcome aboard Adam. I hope you enjoy it here. Angel has given great directions to the property where the Lawson's lived. It is a beautiful area where the Lawson's lived. In fact all of the Walnut Cove area is beautiful.
Maria is a great investigator and has done a lot of research. She can answer almost everything.

If the Original house isn't there anymore then what do the keys go to? Is there a museum in its place, with a lock box inside?

Is this site still active, there are lots of links to Asian porn sites and advertising posts. Is no one moderating what is posted?
