I have found some interesting contradictions relating to who the oldest child of Charlie and Fannie Lawson was. I have always heard that Arthur was the oldest child and Marie was next. I have never heard so much as one person say otherwise. BUT...while checking out marriage and birth and death certificates as well as the Lawson tombstone, it turns out that Arthur may not have been Charlie and Fannie Lawson's first child after all. Charlie and Fannie were married on March 12. 1911. Arthur's tombstone says he was born in 1911 (no month or day) while his death certificate says he was born on August 18th, 1913. BUT... Marie's death certificate says she was born on April 3rd. 1912. That would make Marie older than Arthur by 1 year 4 months, and 15 days. If the year of Arthur's birth that is listed as 1911 on his tombstone is correct, then that would mean that Fonnie was already 4 months pregnant when she and Charlie were married. And it would also mean if Arthur was born on August 18th, 1911 then he was only 8 months old when Marie was born. Is the date on the tombstone wrong or is the date on the death certificate wrong? Also. Arthur's tombstone says he died in 1944. (no month or day listed) but on his death certificate it says he died on May 5th. 1945 at 10:30 p.m. Any ideas or comments on this anybody?

It could be possible that the ones who filled out the death certificate and the tombstone got their information from two different sources. Maybe you could check census records from 1920 to see what age was listed on them.

Thank you Sissy for the tip on checking the census records for 1920. i just checked and it turns out that Marie was indeed the first child born to Charlie and Fannie. The L920 census shows Marie as 7 years old and Arthur as 6 years old.
