Stella Lawson, Marion Lawson's daughter had two sisters, Lillian and Lula as well as two brothers, Gene and Sanders. Am I the only one who thinks it's strange that Stella was the only one who overheard her step-mother Nina talking with other relatives on the day of the funeral about Marie being pregnant? She was also the only one Nina told many years later that she Stella, was old enough now to know the truth about Charlie getting Marie pregnant. Why is it that none of her brothers and sisters were ever told this secret by Nina? Stella was 13 years old when her Uncle Charlie Lawson killed his family and only 13 years old when she supposedly overheard Nina say Marie was pregnant by her father. How in the world was this 13 year old girl able to keep this secret all to herself and not even share it with at least one of her sisters or one of her best friends. The only time that Stella ever came clean about it was 60 years later when someone told her they were going to write a book about the murders. I find this VERY hard to believe or understand. She doesn't say a word about it to her father or sisters yet reveals the secret to the whole world via of having it printed in a book.

It does make you wonder why she kept that secret for so long. I wonder if this is why her sisters and the rest of the family were so angry, is because they believe it was a lie and a betrayal by her.

I don't think it was a lie because other relatives as well as neighbors and friends knew about Marie and Charlie. I think it was the fact that Stella blew the lid off the secret to total strangers and money was made off of this terrible secret via a book. She went outside the family and that is what made them so angry, I believe. I also find it strange tht Stella was the only one of Marion's children that he had work with him on the tours of the cabin. He didn't, to my knowledge include anyone else in his family to help him. Just Stella.
