Few questions........
Do any of you know where the actual contents went that were found in his pockets? Did they stay in police files (Stokes Co.), or did Arthur receive the pocket contents (newspaper ad, notes, pencil, etc...)? Does anyone know where the store ad was from that was in his pocket? A local store, or in Winston Salem perhaps?? I know that does not really matter now, but then the authorities could have asked the store associates if Charlie had been in their store. (And also who the "crib" or whatever furniture was for.)

In my opinion the new baby furniture, was for Marie. They already had a baby in the crib they had. If Marie was pregnant they would have to put the new baby somewhere.

It was a cradle the baby was in and she would have been growing too fast to have stayed there much longer. Perhaps he was looking to buy a baby bed for his own baby as she would have been outgrowing the cradle but much too little to put into a regular bed. Just a thought.

I am confused. In the pictures of the crime scenes, there is a crib/baby bed present. It is not a cradle. I have no children, but I know a cradle is usually small and rocks. Am I wrong?

It looks much like a cradle to me and one like I have. Mine can either rock or not. It has gone through three grand babies and you can only use it for a few months.
