02/21/07 at 11:41 AM Maria I learned recently something interesting about how Lawsonville got it's name. It used to be The Town of Campbell. One day a bunch of Campbells and some Lawsons got into a fight and the Lawson men won and the town changed it's name to Lawsonville. Nope, I don't know what the fight was about. Not YET anway. For those in here who may not know it, Lawsonville is where Charlie and Fannie Manring Lawson were born and raised. Their parents were born there too. Charlie's father is buried there as well as his sister Sarah Etta Lawson Bullins. I'm going to Lawsonville this afternoon and take some photos and ask around about things back then. Since Charlie Lawson lived there much longer than in Germanton I feel the town is importat for us to learn about. Maria
