Reading over an article in another newspaper this morning that came out 2 days after the murders it says that the note that said "Blame nobody but" was found underneath Charlie Lawson's head. How crazy is that!! Where did those reporters get there info from. Every other article says both notes were found in Charlie's coat pocket. Why would he put one in his coat pocket and the other one under his head?

I bet you could find another article that says the note was found 10 feet from his body on the ground. Everybody has their own version of the facts of this story! One paper says one thing, another says another thing, one family member says one thing, another says another. That's GOT to be frustrating to a researcher like yourself Maria!

Actually I now find it more interesting than frustrating!!! Another thing that amazes me is how many times I'll
read the same article and see something I over looked after reading that article 8 times!!! Dust a few minutes ago after reading that same article that said that note was found under Charlie Lawson's head, I saw a second thing in that article that I had not noticed before and that is that it shows the spot in the woods where Charlie Lawson's body lay which I've seen many times but what I didn't notice all the other times I'd seen and read it was where it showed two of the bills of sale for tobacco hanging in the bushes. It said in the caption beneath the photo that they had blown out of Charlie's coat pocket when his body was removed.

Is that what those two things are in the middle of the photo?

Yep. That's what it says. Wonder if the notes and Insurance statement blew out also.

I never knew what the heck that was! I saw them before, I could see they were square, but I didn't know they were paper. I just didn't know what it was. But now I do...Thanks!!

I assume those notes were handed over to Marion Lawson once the Sheriff received confirmation from a relative that it was Charlie Lawson's hand writing. I also wonder if Arthur ever saw those two notes and what he thought about them.

The information they got sounds like depended on who they interviewed. Every story was a little different. Was it Marion who confirmed the handwriting?

The Sheriff just said a relative confirmed the handwriting as being Charlie's. It was probably Marion but I don't know that for sure.
