I saw our documentary when it premiered in Mt. Airy and again tonight at Germanton School and both times I was in awe. It has been a wonderful experience for me to be a part of this documentary as it's researcher and I have to say it is better than I ever imagined it cculd or would be. I am proud of each of us who had a part in bringing this story of the lawson murders to light via of a documentary, we each made our own unique contributions and it is a huge success. Way to go cast and crew!!!!!!!!!!!

People always ask me why did you do a program on the Clarlie Lawson Family' They want to know are they your family? First of all, "No" it is not my family. I am like everyone else. Growing up in Mt. Airy, N.C it was a story I had ieard all my life and I was always fascinated by the story, and "The Mystery that surrounds it." I haye found that through the years you can ask anyone, "have you ever heard of the Charlie Laws on Family?" If they say, "No" then you know they are not from this area. Everyone I meet is fascinated by the story. But, it is a real story, not a Fairy Tale. As a person who has done genealogy research for 40 years, I was always taught to look for the truth ! don't think the truth will ever be known about this Tragedy. That is the reason 77 years (This Christmas Day) later people are still asking the question, "Why did Chajlie Lawson kill his Family?" The Epitaph on the Stone tells it all, NOT NOW BUT IN THE COMING YEARS, IT WILL BE IN A BETTER LAND, WE'LL READ THE MEANING OF THE OUR TEARS AND THEN
SOMETIME WE'LL UNDERSTAND. When Matt ask me about filming the program Patrick and I present, I had a good feeling about Matt, Eric, Amy, Maria and all the people that worked with them. We cannot change history, we can only hope to learn something good from the things that happen and try to make life better for others, and that is what
they want to do with this documentary. Esther Johnson

I think it is great that a movie was made about Charlie Lawson. My Grandfather was James Lawson. So I'm kin to Charlie. The family is very secretive to this day. My Grandfather passed away after my Grandmother Hilda Holland Lawson left him. The Lawsons are secretive about him and the family in general. I plan on searching through my ancestry very soon.

I really appreciate Matt and Eric letting me be a part of this great story here. We had a great time shooting the scenes(Especially the Paynr Road one) and enjoyed meeting all the other cool people who were involved with the cast also. Good times ill remember for a good while.
This story has been a interest of mine ever since my dad took me to the gravesite back in 87. Its also interesting knowing it just happened right up the road from my house a little ways. And my mom also used to sing the ballad to me. I think the guys have done a great job and that its getting such a positive reaction from not only the family but from everyone. Hats off to you fellas and thank you.
