A relative of the Lawson family that we interviewed told us an incident that occurred with Charlie Lawson shortly before the murders, he said Charlie regularly went around with a bag of candy, sometimes a bag of popcorn and handed it out to the children. But one day he did something totally out of character. He took a bag of popcorn and when he got to the children, instead of handing pieces of it to each child, he poured the popcorn on the ground at their feet. WHY? Had he truly gone mad? Or was he angry at them or what? To pour it on the ground at their feet was an insult. Why would he do that? Doing something very strange and completely out of character tends to cause people to remember you. Just like the murders. Would Charlie Lawson's wife and children be remembered so much if they hadn't been murdered. Would Charlie Lawson be remembered and still talked about 78 years after he died if he had not killed his family? Heck no. Think about it.

Charlie needed a class on anger management
I guess either Fannie or the children told a relative what he did

It wasn't his children he did that to. It was some of the neighborhood children and children of his brothers and
sisters. One of them remembered it and told us about it. But Charlie Lawson definitely needed a class in anger
management!!

If you've got murder on your mind - including the murder of tiny children -1 don't know if an anger management class
would have helped!

I agree Angel. It was way too late by then. But if he couldn't have gotten help at any point in time who knows. It still might have happened. But it would help to know he had sought help, even if it didn't do any good.

Yes, maybe it could have helped if help had gotten to him quick enough.

Or if he had accepted it when it was offered to him instead of letting his children and wife talk him out of going
that day.

Yes, that is just so sad that it happened that way. I believe there is a very good chance the murders would not have happened had he gone arid gotten help that day.
