I wanted to pass along to Matt, Eric, Maria, Amy and all the rest of you folks about my families reaction to the film. They all came to the house for breakfast this morning, I had told them that I had the DVD and we would watch it before they went home. After the usual eating and gift exchange we all settled in to watch- There was 9 of us- My son, his wife and their 2 daughters. My daughter and a friend, and her daughter and my husband and I- I don't want to say they loved it,( because of the subject matter), but they thought it was a great film- Great Job, Matt, Eric, Maria, Amy and to all the people who are in the film, you did great- Esther Johnson

Hi Esther,
We also showed the film to friends on Christmas Day and one of the best things about it is how it opens dialog not only on the story but the way secrets are held in any family and different stories get passed down. I know in my family sometimes when we get together one of recounts an experience in a different light as the other. Hence, our children grow up with different versions of family history.

This is my first post here.
I just wanted to say that I watched the film last night (12/26) with several family members and friends. I thought that the doc was very well done. Getting that many people to feel comfortable being interviewed is no small feat, but you guys pulled it off. And the re-creations were very well done. Kudos. Being a resident of North Carolina for 20+ years, with an interest in true crime stories, I'm amazed that I'd never heard of this story before. And everyone that I've discussed it with, that are lifelong Carolinians, were un-aware of it as well.
I hope to learn more here on this message board. Thanks.
